More importantly, our wider appeal has been heard.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nWe asked the BPC, members of the public, current and former colleagues at the BPC, and anyone else with relevant information to send us public determinations and other material concerning psychoanalysts who (after official investigation) have abused positions of trust, power, or professional responsibility over their patients, and the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thank you to everyone who has responded<\/strong>, – photos, emails, official reports. Watch this space \u2013 we will publish some of them when we have time (we have work to do, and no money for this)!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\nIf you have further material, we would be very grateful to receive it. Any information you provide will be handled with appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity. Our default position is always to minimise harm while promoting transparency in matters of genuine public interest. We are concerned that the BPC has archived\u2014or, from our the public’s perspective, removed\u2014important determinations relating to former registrants. We believe that findings concerning serious professional misconduct should remain publicly accessible so that patients, families, researchers, journalists, and the wider public can make informed decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
